Food Agility's Leader of Research Innovation & Impact, Stephen Summerhayes, ventured west recently to meet with the project teams behind WA Farm Data Sharing and Agri-analytics Hub.
These are complex, collaborative projects involving multiple partners, each working toward a common goal - the better use of agricultural data to solve real problems on the ground.
"In-person workshops create the space for reflection, connection and clarity - all critical to delivering real outcomes," says Steve.
"These projects are around halfway through their lifecycle, which is a natural pause point - not to slow down, but to reflect, reassess and re-align,” he adds.
Meeting in person also gives teams a chance to talk openly. Not just about progress, but about how the teams work together.
Food Agility project teams are made up of multiple partners, each tackling unique challenges. Collaboration is an important factor in project success.
“Technical capability matters,” highlights Steve, “But strong relationships and shared understanding are just as important. Taking time to understand individual and organisational drivers helps us build trust, sharpen focus and keep momentum.”
Continuous improvement is a mindset, and this kind of reflection is part of how Food Agility keeps its projects adaptive, focused and grounded in value.
