Food Agility CRC can confirm Dr Michele Allan AO retired from its Board of Directors at its most recent Board meeting, held on 18 February 2025.

Dr Allan was a founding member of Food Agility’s Board of Directors, joining in 2017 when the organisation was awarded $50 million as part of the 18th round of Australian government CRC funding.

She has played an integral role in the success of Food Agility CRC to date and leaves the organisation in a strong position, as it winds down as a CRC and pursues opportunities as a private business.

Dr Allan’s term as non-executive director was due to expire in October 2025, and her decision to bring forward her retirement was made in the interests of focusing on other commitments.

Chair of the Board, Dr Anne Astin AM PSM, thanked Dr Allan for her service to the organisation.

“Michele has been an integral part of the Food Agility CRC Board, making immense contributions to our organisation,” said Dr Astin.

“Her strategic insights, dedication, and unique ability to connect people have been invaluable. We are deeply grateful for her service and impact.”

Dr Allan’s departure follows the retirement of Jacqui Wilson-Smith and Philip Marcus Clark AO, who completed their terms as non-executive board directors on 28 October 2024.

Dr Astin highlighted their contribution to the organisation, adding, “I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our retiring Directors, Jacqui and Phil, who joined the Board in 2019.

“Over the years, both have been instrumental in shaping the evolution of Food Agility. Phil’s expertise in the corporate world, along with his sharp eagle eye, has kept the Board focused through important decisions.

“While Jacqui has consistently ensured that we stay aligned with the needs of industry and end-users, always bringing a valuable perspective to our discussions,” said Dr Astin.
