We’re very disappointed to announce a second postponement of the Agrifood TrainHack. But as we look out onto the smoky horizon and we see that summer forecasts are not bringing good news, we think it’s the right thing to do. When we initially postponed the event from November, none of us imagined that come February the region might still be affected by fire either through direct threat, recovery or the toll of being on alert for so long. At its core, TrainHack is about helping regional communities. We don’t want to impose on regional communities at a time when their priorities are elsewhere. Indeed, there are some of us on the organising team who are supporting friends and family directly impacted by the fires and many of us remain on high alert.
We’re so sorry to disappoint those who have registered. We’re disappointed too! We still think the TrainHack is a brilliant idea and we will make it happen. The organising team will catch up early in the new year to discuss possible dates. For now we will refund all tickets (a few extra dollars back in your pocket just before Christmas!) and you will be the first to know when Australia’s first ever Agrifood TrainHack is back on track.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
The TrainHack Team
